The National Youth Day is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. The Government of India declared National Youth Day in 1984 to motivate youth to follow the principles and ideals of the great philosopher and scholar.
It is held on 12th January annually. Swami Vivekananda is youth’s great inspiration.
On this day many colleges and schools hold essay writing competition, yogasanas, seminars, conventions and recite choral and devotional songs.
