The Hessler Street Fair is celebrated to mark an unofficial start of summer festival. The fair first began in 1969 to preserve the historic street as a residential enclave by raising money. The enclave was bought by the institutions of University Circle.
In 1975 the plan was successful and Hessler Street was named as Cleveland’s which was the first historic landmark district. The fair is held annually during late May in Cleveland’s Hessler Road, Ohio in the United States.
The main feature of the fair is poetry. In spite of this, the two day fair also features live music, children’s games, original art, street vendors and a variety of delicious food.
