The Texas Rose Festival was first of all organized in 1933 by Tyler Garden Club members, the Chamber of Commerce and local rose growers. Its purpose was to promote tourism, showcase town elegance and to focus attention on the importance of rose industry. It is held each year during the third weekend of October all across Tyler, Texas in the United States.
The four day event includes symphony concerts, arts and crafts fair, an art show, bear and toy shows; a car show and doll show in the park.
