The Saint Paul Winter Carnival was started in 1885 by Saint Paul to prove that the place Saint Paul is fit for human habitation. Thus the famous Saint Paul Winter Carnival was born. It is one of the largest winter festivals held in late January in Saint Paul, Minnesota in the United States.
With more than 75 events the carnival includes the coronation of King Boreas, Vulcanus Rex, Queen of the Snows, other Winter Carnival royalty and the breathtaking ice sculptures, ice horse racing, ice carvings, a day parade, a night time parade and the GottaThrowGottaGo disc sports festival. It also exhibits the Minnesota Hot dish tent, figure skating, the giant snow slide, the ice palace, the St. Paul Winter Carnival memorabilia exhibit and children’s activities.
