The Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival was started to raise funds for the strengthening of Half Moon Bay in the main street which was beginning to show signs of decay. So the concerned citizens group was appointed by The Half Moon Bay City Council in 1971. It is held for seven days during pumpkin harvest season in the month of October. It takes place in Half Moon Bay, California in the United States. Over 250 artists and craftspeople display their works in ceramics, glass, jewelry, leather, metal and mixed media, paintings, photography, sculpture, textiles and wood. The festival is considered among the top art shows in the country.
