The Festival of Native Arts was started in 1973 by faculty and University of Alaska Fairbanks students who organized spring festival to focus on the artistic expressions of the culture of Alaska Native. The festival is held in the month of March in the spring season. It takes place in Fairbanks, Alaska in the United States.
The festival integrates the foreign groups of the United States, the major Native culture groups of Alaska and countries such as Japan, Russia and Canada. In recent years this festival is planned and produced entirely by UAF students. The Native dancers, artists and craftspeople gather together to share the rich artistic Native culture groups traditions. People from all cultures reach Alaska to celebrate the festival.
