Amongmong festival is celebrated by Sangtam tribal people at the period when new crops are harvested in the fields. The festival is organized annually during the first week of September. It is celebrated in Nagaland in India.
The festival lasts six days and people worship their house idol and the three cooking stones in the fireplace to mark the celebration of the Amongmong Festival. People believe that they will be blessed with prosperity, good health, rich harvest and opulence if they worship the idol during the festival.
